Bevry

Bevry is a mobile-first web app for cocktail enthusiasts to collect, create, and share drink recipes with a playful twist.

Bevry was created over the course of several semesters by a team of five Master’s students. Our goal was to design and build a mobile-first web application with full recipe management features, while also developing a cohesive brand identity and marketing concept. The result is a vibrant, feature-rich platform that combines solid functionality with a distinctive design language.

The Problem

Many cocktail fans struggle to find one place where they can not only discover and save recipes, but also connect with others. Most existing apps act more like static recipe libraries. Bevry sets out to change that by combining recipe management with social features, customizable profiles, and playful extras that make mixing drinks more engaging and communal.

Bevry is a mobile-first web app that lets cocktail enthusiasts explore, create, and share recipes in an interactive way. Unlike traditional recipe apps, it combines social and group-focused features, from likes and comments to party games, making mixology more engaging. Users can personalize profiles, manage their bar inventory, discover new drinks, and enjoy playful extras, all within one central hub.

  • Multiplayer and singleplayer mini-games for parties and solo play
  • Customizable user accounts and profiles
  • Create, edit, delete, and explore cocktail recipes
  • Favorites, ratings, likes, and comments
  • Search & filter by ingredients, popularity, or category
  • Privacy controls for personal recipes
  • Bar inventory and shopping list with smart suggestions

From casual drinkers to passionate mixologists, Bevry is designed for anyone who wants to explore new cocktails, share creations, or host a fun cocktail night with friends.

Before development, we defined Bevry’s brand identity, including a logo, typography, and color palette inspired by fruity freshness and playful bubbles. A marketing landing page and a full brand book were created to position Bevry as a vibrant, community-driven app.

To strengthen positioning, a marketing landing page and a comprehensive brand book were developed, presenting Bevry as a vibrant, community-driven app.

To strengthen Bevry’s brand identity, the project included high-fidelity screen designs for a marketing landing page. The work covered a marketing styleguide, the landing page design, and iterations for the about page. The page acts as Bevry’s digital flagship, showcasing the app’s features and expressing its values of creativity, experimentation, community, and fun.

Bevry was one of the biggest projects I have been part of and definitely one of the most valuable learning experiences for me. From the very beginning, it was more than just building an application – it meant defining a full brand identity, creating a brand book, and making sure every detail felt consistent and authentic. We collaborated with many different people along the way: a photographer, a graphic designer, and even someone for animations and sound. That experience of bringing together so many different skills and perspectives really showed me what it means to work on a multidisciplinary project.

The outcome is not just a functional, responsive web app, but a product with a strong brand identity and features that go far beyond a standard recipe platform. Bevry makes cocktails creative, social, and fun, all in one place. Looking back, I not only gained technical and design skills, but also learned how to manage complexity, coordinate with different experts, and think about what makes a product feel complete.
